The Government will be switching off the analogue television service that we currently receive and replacing it with Digital TV. This service is known as "Freeview." Most homes now have a Freeview set top box or a Freeview digital decoder built into their television. This enables you to receive the free to air digital Tv channels.

With normal analogue TV you should be at least having a viewable picture on your television. However, with digital TV and Freeview you will either have an excellent perfect picture or your reception will break up into little squares. This is called freezing and blocking. It can be very irritating

All aerials are capable of receiving a digital signal, but some aerials are better than others. If you are having Digital TV reception problems then you should probably upgrade to a digital TV aerial. They look slightly different from a standard TV aerial and are connected differently. We also recommend that you use Gold plated SCART cables to connect your TV to your set top box, as these will give superior performance and result in a better picture.
